THE FOOD PYRAMID AND HEALTY EATING

The food pyramid is a pyramid in shape which has the amount of which food group you must eat per day. This is designed so you get the ratios correct and don't eat only sugars per day, or only protein per day.

The amount of each food group you must eat per day:

  1. Eat lots of fruits vegetables and salad this will provide a healthy meal/snack. This also provides a lot of vitamins and minerals for your body. About 25% of your water and meals per day should be from fruits, vegetables and salads.

  2. The next thing you should eat lots of is carbohydrates these are like cereals, bread and pastas these provide long lasting energy for a long time. You should eat about 25% of this on a daily basis.

  3. Next things are meat/proteins and dairy products (example:eggs butter milk etc etc) and on the protein side stews, beef, pork and chicken.You must eat about 20% of this on a daily basis.

  4. The last thing is... yes junk food sweets and chocolates in other words unhealthy food this you must eat the least of (if you have to) only about 10% a day at the MAXIMUM.

  5. The last thing you must ''eat'' is water. You should have an additional 40% of water/liquid this is the best you can do. This is roughly 3.5 litres of water per day on average.
